BBC Scrubbable

Have a play

We’re making Scrubbable for the BBC as part of the corporation’s Taster initiative to create experimental tools using cutting-edge technologies.

It’s a prototype UGC (user-generated content) application which transforms short six-second videos into touch-interactive, slow motion clips. Called ‘scrubbables’, they can be annotated with Post-it-style text pop-ups and shared with friends over Facebook and Twitter.

It was built using the MEAN development stack, a collection of more recent JavaScript-based technologies ideally suited to rich-media web applications optimised for mobile and tablet.
