In case you haven’t heard, at the end of 2022 we won some Innovate UK funding to work with the amazing Tranquil City, exploring how environmental mapping data can be used to track progress against the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). If you’re not sure what these are, they’re a set of 17 goals and targets that aspire to make the world a better place for all.

We’re exploring how geospatial data can be created globally and used for strategic urban planning, site and intervention design and evaluation of impact towards three specific SDGs:

We have some big ideas about how our data can help make healthier, more sustainable cities where nature and people can thrive. But we need your input to understand where this data is most effective and how it should be presented and used within the policy, planning and design process.

We’re looking for policymakers, charities, urban planners and environmental practitioners from around the world to complete a short survey on how the UN Sustainable Development Goals relate to their day-to-day work. This initial survey will ask some high-level questions on how each of the SDGs is relevant for your city and discipline and if you’ve experienced any challenges with trying to measure progress. Your insights will be invaluable to informing the next stage of the experiment process.
